An Opp man was arrested Thursday morning on charges of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old.

After an alert from the Department of Human Resources that something was happening to the victim, Opp Police Department investigators arrested 57-year-old Timmy Wayne Norris.

The incident happened within the city limits, and the victim was a young female with whom Norris was familiar, according to OPD Chief Mike McDonald.

Police say a Daytona Beach father beat an 18-year-old man unconscious after finding the teen sexually abusing his son.

The victim’s father reportedly called 911 early Friday morning after he walked in on the alleged abuse. When officers arrived they found 18-year-old Raymond Frolander, who they say was lying motionless on the living room floor.

He had several knots on his face and was bleeding from the mouth.

The father, who was not identified by police, told investigators that he walked in as Frolander was abusing the boy and “took physical action towards [Frolander] to prevent him from leaving the scene before police could arrive.”

According to court records, David Barrow has been charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old and two counts of human trafficking. He was originally charged with three counts of sexual abuse and one count of human trafficking when police announced his arrest on May 9.

Court records made public this afternoon outline the specific complaints against Barrow, who has been suspended from his volunteer position at Guntersville High School.
