A fourth woman was arrested in an ongoing investigation into sex crimes involving minors in Opp.

According to the Opp Police Department, Chelsea Alexandria Calhoun, 20, was arrested Tuesday and charged with rape in the second degree. Her bond was set at $200,000.

Three other women in the small town have been arrested on child sex crime charges since Jan. 24.

Jason Tobias Kreider, 33, preyed on children whose families he befriended, authorities said. Investigators learned he would tell the children that if they told anyone, they would be placed in DHR custody and taken from their loved ones.

Former Army officer Aaron Lucas, 33, of Huntsville, was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison today in Colorado for multiple sex crimes against children, the Gazette reports.

According to the Gazette, the former Fort Carson soldier  was sentenced by Judge David Shakes for charges that included rape and sexual assault of a child.

An Andalusia man was sentenced in federal court Friday to more than 16 years in prison for traveling to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old boy in April.

David Daniel Hicks, Jr., 42, of Andalusia, must serve 200 months in prison for the use of a facility of interstate commerce to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity, interstate travel for illicit sexual conduct, and production of child pornography, according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release.

Hicks was also sentenced to a lifetime term of supervised release after his incarceration;  to register as a sex offender; to complete sex offender treatment; to submit to monitoring of any computer or electronic accounts; to avoid unsupervised contact with children; and to inform future employers of his convictions.

MONTGOMERY, AL – Attorney General Luther Strange announced that a youth minister facing charges in Madison and Cullman counties for sex crimes against children is due to be sentenced on July 31 for similar crimes of  which he has been convicted in Elmore County.

John A. Astorga was found guilty on April 11 by a jury in Elmore County Circuit Court for two counts of first-degree sexual abuse. During the trial, evidence that was presented by the Attorney General’s Office that included the testimony of three separate victims as well as the pastor of Bethel Assembly of God in Wetumpka where Astorga had been employed.
