An Opp high school teacher is on leave after she was arrested for having sex with two different students, police said.

Ashley Hall, 33, was booked into the Covington County Jail on May 1, according to jail records. She is charged with two counts of a school employee engaging in a sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student under the age of 19.

She was released from the jail the same day after posting $700,000 bond, $350,000 for each count. Hall taught English at Opp High School, according to the school’s website.

Jennifer Marie Perry, 27, surrendered to the Jefferson County Jail on Monday, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. She is charged with having sexual contact with a 17-year-old student at Pinson Valley High School.

A Sarasota High School student has been charged with organizing a prostitution ring of students from Venice and Riverview high schools.

Alexa Nicole De Armas, 17, was arrested Friday and charged with human trafficking of a person younger than 18, a felony.

At least one act of prostitution took place, police said, leading to the arrest of John Michael Mosher, 21, who reportedly paid $40 and a bottle of liquor to have sex with a 15-year-old girl.

A woman is behind bars after allegedly pretending to be an East Texas high school student.

Charity Anne Johnson, 31, was enrolled at New Life Christian School in Longview as a sophomore. Longview police say Johnson was arrested Tuesday at an apartment in the 400 block of S. High Street. Residents told officers they had reason to believe she was lying about her age and wanted assistance in making her leave.

Officer Debra Stiles said Johnson gave officers the name “Charite Stevens” and a birth date of November 24, 1997. This is the information Johnson used to enroll at New Life Christian School.

A spokesperson for the school said Johnson was brought in to enroll with a person who was her guardian. She enrolled in the school, giving a date of birth that indicated she was 15. On Tuesday, staff at the school discovered her identification was fake. She had been a student there since October 2013.

David Jacobs Barrow, 57, is charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a child under 12 and first-degree human trafficking. He was booked into the Madison County Jail just before 3:30 p.m.

As part of the plea deal, Williams will spend 14 months in jail and will have 3 years of probation. She is also required to seek counseling, must register as a sex offender, and can no longer teach.

A former Spain Park High School teacher was sentenced to probation this morning after pleading guilty to having sex with a student under the age of 19.

Stephanie Suggs Millard, 34, of north Shelby County, was sentenced by Shelby County Circuit Court Judge Dan Reeves to 10 years in prison. But the judge suspended the sentence and placed her on probation for five years.

The sentence was the result of a best interest plea agreement Millard entered with the Shelby County District Attorneys Office.
