Two men will now be convicted sex offenders after they pleaded guilty to soliciting children over the Internet during an undercover Hartford police investigation called Operation Guardian Angel.

A former health care official, 59-year-old Michael Lee Graue, pleaded guilty Thursday morning to felony electronic solicitation of a child in front of Circuit Court Judge Kenneth Quattlebaum.

As part of a guilty plea agreement, Graue received a 6-year prison sentence. He applied for probation through his attorney, Thomas Smith, which will be heard by the court on March 5.

Winchester Crown Court heard the fictional “James Richards” told women using match.com he needed money to release a £100m inheritance in India.

One victim handed over £174,000.

Peter Monty Emu, 28, of Portsmouth, and Adewunmi Nusi, 27, of Hermitage, Berkshire, were convicted of money laundering. Chukwuka Ugwu, 28, and Emmanuel Oko admitted the same charge.

A woman who posted a message on Twitter about knocking a cyclist off his bike has been found guilty of two charges related to the incident.

Emma Way, 22, clipped cyclist Toby Hockley with her car in Norfolk in May.

She then tweeted: “Definitely knocked a cyclist off his bike earlier. I have right of way – he doesn’t even pay road tax! #Bloodycyclists.”

Norwich magistrates convicted her of failing to stop after an accident and failing to report it, which she denied.

Way, of Watton, was acquitted of driving without due care and attention.

She was ordered to pay a £337 fine, £300 in costs and was given seven points on her licence.

A Houston County jury convicted a Columbia man on Thursday of repeatedly molesting a girl over a six-to-eight-year period.

Assistant Houston County District Attorney Kristen Shields said the jury found 40-year-old Todd Whitehead guilty of multiple felony sexual assault charges, which included rape, sex abuse and incest.

Shields said sheriff’s deputies took Whitehead into custody after the guilty verdict. He’d previously been released on bail.
