On November 10, a 12-year-old girl left her home in the Baltimore suburb of Nottingham at 7:30am, heading to her middle school. She never returned home. When her mother called the school later, she discovered that her daughter had not even arrived. Suddenly, Baltimore County Police were calling in the FBI to assist in their search for a missing person.

Slenderman is a fictional character is an Internet meme that often appears in horror stories, videos and images. One of the suspects told police that Slenderman is the site’s supposed leader, and to climb into his realm, a user must kill someone.

A 52-year-old man is in the Bessemer City Jail after authorities say he attempted to abduct a 13-year-old girl and possibly kidnapped another female before leading lawmen on a chase.

The ordeal began about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday outside of the Fourth Avenue Supermarket in Bessemer. The teen girl said the man approached her and asked her if she knew someone, and gave her a specific name. When she told the man no, he offered her $20 to get in the car with him, said Bessemer police Deputy Chief Mike Roper.

A Houston County judge sentenced a man Wednesday to 99 years behind bars for the rape of a 10-year-old girl.

Circuit Court Judge Butch Binford sentenced Donald E. Lacey, 43, of Panama City, Fla., to the prison term for a felony first-degree rape conviction.

Assistant Houston County District Attorney Gary Maxwell asked the court for the maximum sentence of 99 years.
