An alias warrant for arrest has been issued against a former Dothan firefighter after police recently arrested him on child solicitation and porn charges.

Court records show Houston County Circuit Court Judge Brad Mendheim issued an alias warrant for the arrest of 45-year-old Clarence Ray Griffith III in connection to a probation violation for methamphetamine making and possession convictions in his court.

Police in Tuscaloosa have arrested three women at a massage parlor during a four-month investigation into online advertisements for prostitution in the area.

Sgt. Brent Blankley said officers found the posts in October on a site that’s functionally similar to the personal ad site craigslist, but includes more offers of illicit services.

The investigation led police to A1 Therapy and Spa on Highway 69 South, a massage parlor, where officers have arrested three women since October, including one arrest made last week.

A volunteer basketball coach in Cullman County was arrested earlier this week after an investigation revealed he had sex with a juvenile, Sheriff Matt Gentry said.

Spencer Jackson Byrd, 21, of Cullman was arrested Wednesday. He has been charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy and enticing a child, Gentry said.

But when texting turns nasty, that’s when problems start. Texting becomes ‘sexting’ when the text becomes sexual in nature.

When Mike and Rebecca Ellis found out their son Cole, a straight-A student athlete, was involved in a sexting situation, they’ll be the first to admit they overreacted.

“First it was calm, then it got to be where it got aggressive in questioning, how did this all come about? I think in my role as leader of the household, I overstepped my boundaries as it relates to embarrassing Cole, his moral fiber and what he stood for; that was not my intention. If I could replay that day, that day would never have occurred,” said Mike Ellis.

Rebecca was shocked to learn Cole had been deleting sexts, hoping the messages and pictures would go away.

A Blount County school administrator was arrested early this morning on felony charges that he videotaped a 14-year-old girl nude in the bathroom without her knowledge.

Tim Clevenger, the 48-year-old assistant principal at Locust Fork High School, is charged with production of obscene matter, criminal surveillance and possession of obscene matter, according to court records. The incident happened more than a year ago, but school IT officials recently discovered the video on Clevenger’s school computer.

Sgt. Alex Miles said Collins-Riverside Middle School notified the sheriff’s office in November that an unknown man had exposed himself to several female students there.

A fourth woman was arrested in an ongoing investigation into sex crimes involving minors in Opp.

According to the Opp Police Department, Chelsea Alexandria Calhoun, 20, was arrested Tuesday and charged with rape in the second degree. Her bond was set at $200,000.

Three other women in the small town have been arrested on child sex crime charges since Jan. 24.
