One new article link has been added to our Related News page. The Dothan Eagle published an article titled New teacher-student sex charge actively used across Alabama.
Alabama legislators passed the law in July 2010, which made it a felony crime for a school employee to engage in a sex act with a student. The class B felony crime comes with a punishment of two to 20 years in prison, if convicted.
With two pending criminal cases in the Wiregrass Houston County District Attorney Doug Valeska and Pike County District Attorney Tom Anderson say the new charge will help provide more protection to older students who have been victimized.
